Church weddings, in particular, may be preceded by a rehearsal during which the bride and groom are taken through the various stages of the service by the priest or celebrant. This can be an ideal opportunity, if practicable, for the wedding photographer to visit the venue and also gain an understanding of the venue and what is planned. Some couples incorporate readings or recitals by members of their families, or other not-to-be-missed events. The rehearsal also presents an opportunity to meet the priest in person and gauge his or her views regarding photography, the use of flash and so on.
