The image below shows a photogrammetric aerial survey of a geological fault in the Lavik Lake area of the Bullion Mountains, California, USA. The fault turns through about 30 degrees near the bottom of the image, where the fault separates into numerous smaller fissures, but then coalesces again after the bend. The image was taken by I K Curtis of the US Geological Survey, Burbank, California, and is released into the public domain.
