British Photographic Exhibitions offer crown awards to enable photographers who are successful in affiliated exhibitions to gain additional personal recognition. Exhibitors accumulate their acceptances in relevant national exhibitions and may apply for a crown rating award when various totals are reached. Successful applicants receive a certificate and ribbon, and are permitted to use the appropriate letters after their name. Photographers who achieve the top crown award rating (BPE5*) can aggregate acceptances and awards in member exhibitions and, upon reaching the relevant levels of success, may apply for Associateship and Fellowship. Successful applicants receive a certificate and medal, and are permitted to use the letters ABPE and FBPE after their name.
