The Disabled Photographers' Society is a registered national charity, founded in 1968, set up to encourage and support photographers with disabilities. The Society was established as a consequence of a group of enthusiasts in Richmond inviting disabled ex-servicemen from the Royal Star and Garter Home to join their meetings. The Society now has members all over the UK, and members now come from all walks of life.

Membership is open to disabled people, their carers, or anyone interested in supporting disabled people. Membership fees are low, there are quarterly magazines and competitions and organized outings.
